BornBound - Nalini Size Chart
INSTRUCTIONS FOR NALINI PRODUCED CUSTOM PRODUCT SIZING
Ensuring that you select the right size for your technical CUSTOM garment is very important to us, as you will of course want to be happy and comfortable. Please then, carefully study the guideline chart on this page.
Of course, we are all unique, and you may wish to consider your size even more carefully if your own measurements border any size increments.
Please ensure that you take your measurements without clothes (do not measure over clothes), and preferably use a traditional cotton tape measure so that you can be as accurate as possible. Also please note that each size has an upper and lower limit, and some further instructions are given here for Jerseys vs bib-shorts etc.
To choose the correct size of upper body pieces, use your chest size as your primary guide. The Jerseys have plenty of stretch. The other size measurements can be used to help you finalise your size choice if you're not sure. Your own height should also be considered and can help when considering sleeve and body length if your size sits in between two sizes or borders another increment. As a rule of thumb, we suggest choosing the bigger of the two sizes if your measurements sit in between two size increments, or you’re at an upper or lower end of an increment, and if your chest, hip and waist measures are larger by comparison to your height, please consider that by going up a size, the garment will be longer in the body and sleeve (usually by 1cm per size increment).
To choose the correct size of lower body pieces, especially the bib-shorts, use your hip size as your primary guide. HOWEVER, if your waist and hip size is wide in comparison to your height, then the length may be too long and the leg hem will reach over your quadriceps and get too close to the knee (and therefore be baggy). The bibs could also be too long. The high quality Lycra used within in the bib-shorts will stretch and accommodate varying widths, but the lengths are fixed. Again, generally each size increment will increase or reduce length by around 1cm.
Triathlon suits are designed to fit reasonably tight in order to minimise loose fabric folds, minimise drag and to create desirable levels of muscle compression. Muscle compression is good (to a point) and is known to reduce muscle fatigue.
Our sizing guide considers that these technical garments are used for their intended purpose and should therefore be a snug fit. The cycling jerseys are NOT however a race fit and have good length and a slightly relaxed fit vs. typical race items. If you want a race fit, then go down a size.
THIS IS ONLY A MEANT AS GUIDE AND BORNBOUND CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR AN INCORRECT SIZE SELECTION. WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT AND BORN BOUND TO A DIFFERENT PURPOSE!
