Kieran's career

Born in 1996, in Hemel Hempstead, England, Kieran grew up in a family passionate about sports and was introduced to athletics at an early age. His natural talent in swimming was also clear from a young age, and he quickly became a competitive swimmer at his local club. However, Kieran's journey into the world of triathlon began when he discovered his love for running and cycling.

During his studies at Loughborough University in sports science, Kieran had access to world-class training facilities and coaching, allowing him to hone his skills and compete at a higher level. In 2017, Kieran laid down his first career marker with a podium finish at the British U23 Triathlon Championships and in doing so secured his status as one of the promising young talents in British triathlon.

Kieran transitioned into the pro ranks with ease, quickly establishing himself as a formidable competitor on the international stage. His endurance, mental toughness, and strategic racing have been key factors in his success. He competed consistently in numerous high level events including the Ironman 70.3 series and the ETU European Championships, where he has often delivered strong
performances.

In 2021, Kieran achieved another career highlight by winning the Outlaw Holkham in Nottingham UK and in 2022 became the European Triathlon Challenge Long Distance Champion an Almere with a fast 7:55:44 and winning by 5 clear minutes.

In 2023 he rather famously bonked in the closing stages of the same race, but still managed to finish in 2nd place, illustrating his strength in character. His exhaustion took many months to recover from however and 2024 was a slow start. However, with his patience and the belief of his team in that a quiet race schedule was the right approach he was rewarded with a career defining performance at the Ironman Frankfurt European Championship in August 2024 by finishing 2nd behind Kristian Blumenfelt. In beating many of the world's top ranked Ironman Triathletes his name can now be mentioned alongside a heady list of super fast ironman times with a British Ironman Record time of 7:32.14. His marathon time in the run leg was 2:37!

Kieran is also known for his disciplined and margin gains approach to training and racing, where his social media posts are extremely educational for triathletes wishing to learn from him, and his work with BornBound in testing the Skärvatten Pro tri suit and aero calf sleeves has been invaluable. He is committed to working with us through 2025 in the further development of our products and he is the very epitome of taking a BornBound philosophy to the Nth degree!
