Laurie Dépault 🇨🇦 Age Group Triathlete and Surf Lifesaver
Laurie's career
Laurie is a Canadian triathlete, now living in Cornwall UK and it would be easy to assume she has been a triathlete for several years. But in reality, she only started in the sport during 2023, and she has made remarkable progress. She is the embodiment of BornBound in proving that we can all achieve great things if we work hard for it!
Laurie began her sporting career as a competitive swimmer in her native Canada, representing her university and swimming to a high standard. She also has a passion for Surf Lifesaving, where as a sport she has enjoyed great success. She was national champion in 2015 within the sport and she made her national team in 2016.
These successes however don’t teach you how to bike and run and she has enjoyed learning how to train and compete in these sports. She can already put a 1:35 half on the back of a 70.3, which is incredible for someone with no background in running, and having now moved to the UK where the hills of Cornwall are a great training ground for cycling, she’ll soon be making the most of BornBound’s aero tri suit credentials!
